COEUR d’ALENE - The North Idaho Professionals Helping Seniors Alliance was recently formed to help with the choices facing not only older adults, but also their families.
“Why wait for a crisis to know what your options are?” asks Becky Fahey, the group’s president. “Our Alliance is made up of local professionals ranging from financial, homecare, legal, accounting and housing-related services. We work as a team to meet senior needs … giving resources and options to help them make wise decisions.”
The North Idaho Professionals Helping Seniors Alliance has 13 members whose shared mission is to provide a centralized source for a wide variety of senior-specific services.
The members are Becky Fahey, Reverse Mortgages; Doneda Allen & Craig Ziegler, Yates Funeral Homes and Crematory; Shirley Bade, Attorney & CPA; Ann Johnson, Coeur d’Alene Senior Living; Tiffany Jones, Crest Home Health & Hospice; Kat Vercruyssen, Comfort Keepers In-Home Care; Dan Heath, Bellevue Healthcare; Jill Spiker, Realteam Real Estate Center; Dave Spiker, Golden Spike Estates; Rex Grace, Warden Insurance; Cari Fraser & Bryan Ross, Idaho Trust.
Information sharing is their goal as they launch into a six-week senior services conference hosted at Heritage Place beginning Monday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m.
Heritage Place is at 702 W. Walnut Ave. in Coeur d’Alene. It’s free and open to the public and topics will include “Downsizing with Purpose,” “Questions on Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security,” “Legal and Financial Issues in Aging,” just to name a few. Both seniors and their families would benefit from the information.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will also host the conference series beginning Sept. 18.
